Fecal Smearing
My youngest age 12 uses bathroom in shower. Yes, we adopted from foster care in 2017 after 2 years. We didn't say anything about it at the time bc we was already dealing with anger issues, now dealing with both so greatly he had to reside at group home. We found smears under dresser, pee in plants ( I potted mom and son with ) Pee on carpet when mad. wiped poop on his dad's speaker, bluetooth and stuck back in drawer ( unsure if purpose that one) , so close to him leaving and maybe mad.Any… read more
My son did some fecal smearing when he was younger. Rightly or wrongly I treated it as a gastric issue - I figured that sometimes he could feel that he needed to eliminate but perhaps he was finding it difficult to go when using the toilet. ….. So I started to give him Slippery Elm and diatomaceous earth (in orange juice) and I made sure he had plenty of vegetables and drank plenty of water. I also had him squat to go (you can buy foot stools which enable a squatting position when using the loo. All this helped, and my son no longer smears faeces. He does, however, urinate in various vessels (vases, bottles etc) ….. this has started since puberty started, so I am hoping that he will grow out of it eventually.
No matter how bad it is kids just want to go home its genetic in all of us we want to be with our ppl
It’s been since last may but today I finally got him an appointment!! Yo agape to see if he has asd! Finally!! Covid messed up a lot! It got so bad think bipolar too so now in group home :(
My heart goes out to you foster care is not a good place for kids my mom was a case worker for department of children and families theonly thing I can tell you is EVERY kid just wants to go home even when it's not a good situation. Your in a tough spot I can't make it better but I can add you and yours to my prayers
