How can i get it for my daughter. Searching for a clinical trial or a safe place in the US to get it. Any recommendations would be appreciated. So frustrating that these amazing interventions are out there and we have to wait for the incredibly slow FDA approval. Thanks.
Fecal transplant therapy or microbiotic transfer therapy. Its currently approved for c-diff but not autism yet. Basically for kids with bacterial issues in the gut which are causing brain inflammation-Healthy donors gut enzymes/fecal matter implanted into the person with issues so new healthy biodiversity can flourish in the gut. Originally started using it only to help with autistic folks digestive issues, but also saw huge gains cognitively from it and a decrease in autistic symptoms. Search Dr. Adams university of arizona, i believe.
No this sounds similar but different. There is no enzyme test prior to it.
I knew someone who had a fecal transplant for C-diff several years ago. I don’t think it worked that well for her. Is the treatment you’re talking about connected with the gut enzyme clinical trials? The process replaces the enzyme those with ASD are missing. It’s a specific one that they have to be tested for to see if they are lacking.
What does MTT/FMT stand for? I share your frustration with clinical trials and getting new drugs approved. I heard the they were in phrase 3 clinical trials for the missing digestive enzyme replacement treatment but haven’t heard anything lately about it’s status. There’s also promising research on overproduction of nitric oxide in the brain which low-functioning ASD possess and the mouse model research went well.
