Laura has had bad dreams almost every night for ten years. Most nights she gets back to sleep, but sometimes not. It makes her so sad and upset. She does have anxiety. She's starting with a new therapist soon, so I'm hoping that there will be some benefit from that. She often doesn't tell us what she dreams about, so I'm trying to dig more into it with her and ask more pointed questions. Reminding her to come to me when it happens would be good, also. Talking about it, asking for help, exercise during the day and doing fun things things she enjoys, etc will help I think. Also the diet can play a role. Eating too many sweets can trigger . Does she have anxiety as well ?
I've never really been one to have nightmares, but I do have anxiety, for which I take medications. I used to have trouble falling asleep when my OCD was really intense, but these days, I sleep like a baby :)
Thanks so much
