I've ran out of ideas. He's a very picky eater so he won't just put anything in his mouth. I tried mixing it with pudding and yogurt and he spits it out everywhere. Please help 🙏

Parents shared creative tips for helping their children take medication, responding to a mom who had run out of ideas for her picky eater. Several members suggested mixing medicine into favorite foods like ice cream, applesauce, Oreo cream filling, or chocolate milk, while others recommended using a syringe with juice or crushing pills into a spoon. A recurring theme was checking with the doctor about liquid or compounded versions of medications, as some pills cannot safely be crushed or dissolved.

Thanks everyone. I got him to take his medicine thru a syringe and juice. Its definitely not a dissolving medicine so I had to cut the opening for the syringe. He still wasn't super happy about it because of the after taste but it worked today. Tomorrow we'll see if he's caught onto my trick.

My son who is 6 is the same. If your son likes Oreo Cookies, split them open and scrape off the white crème filling and mix in the meds well and then spread it back on the cookie put them together. If the meds have a taste to them or there’s a lot of meds then I use two Oreo crème fillings to mix it but just make one a cookie.

I crush Stephen's Pills in a spoon and then deliver them Orally that way, and He washes it down with some Sports Drink.

Liam takes liquid neds. Occasionally he will take something in yogurt but not a lot. Some meds come in liquid. Liam takes some supplements in his drink. It helps to dissolve the powder from the supplement capsules in about 1/4 a.cup warm water and pour the other 3/4s w gatorade or juice. I always let his doctor and pyschiatrist know he can't take a pill. 1 med has to be compounded into a liquid. Just check with the doctor about they will know what can be crush or dissolved and what can't and what meds come in liquid
