Awww! That is very sweet!

I was working full-time till the end of my son's first grade year when I was laid off from work. Over the summer I was looking for another job and was still looking when his second-grade year began. One day my husband took me aside and said that he noticed that while I have been home full-time, that our son seemed to be doing better.  He said to stop looking for a job and to be a stay-at-home mom. That year I walked my son to school, volunteered at his school, walked him home from school, and I have to say, my husband was right.  Financially, it was tougher but so worth it to see him thrive more.

I have not started one yet because we have a lot of expenses but I think you can do an ABLE account and it not count against gov aid. Texas you have to have so little to qualify for SSI and so few providers take the insurance associated with it, overall it's been better for me to work. Of course there were sometimes I couldn't because of life. I think it really depends on your personal situation.

BrianBrooks I've tried all the avenues and they say that we make too much.my husband's insurance only covers 60 visits. My son has had ABA in the past, I want what's best for him but I'm worried that he won't be able to take care of himself, there for if I have a job, I can start saving, so when I'm gone, he will be taking care of. If I got government assistance, I believe they would see that I have an account for him.
