Kiddo is probably exhausted and overwhelmed from the school day. Lots going on all day! Try not to take it personally. Keep on lovin him, momma.
5 to 10 minute breaks between events helps to alleviate a lot of that confusion felt by our ASD individuals.
Don't be afraid to ask for that at the IEP.
Ask for an 'Emergency IEP' and request that.
I've been through this. What I noticed w/ my daughter is the acting out would happen w/ a change in routine-new teacher, new bus driver, something changed in school .Do you know if there was any change? However if the behavior continues longer then you have to look at other factors like-is the class good for them, maybe they need supports of some sort to get through the day?
Yes Liam had a great, calm first 2 weeks but lately has been hitting, kicking, throwing, and generally causing extra mischief at school and home. He has way too much energy
My son does Aba and he used to never get upset when we would drop him off for class. But the Aba he attends has been putting him in “pre-school” simulated classes for the past few weeks and now he throws a major tantrum when we drop him off. Especially if he doesn’t get picked up by a teacher he likes a lot. It’s been such a problem they bribe him with suckers to get inside lol.
