I have had many health issues since this last year. I feel it has to do with the stress I’m under. I would like to focus on myself and my children. I’m afraid though to quit my job. Has anybody had something similar happen to them?

Families in Delano have access to specialized autism resources including play-based ABA therapy at Dream Big Children's Center, which serves children ages 18 months to 5 years. For comprehensive developmental support, case management, and evaluations, locals can contact the Kern Regional Center located at High Street, Suite D.For state-wide support guidelines and toolkits, parents can also explore the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Autism Resource Hub.

When a full-time job becomes overly stressful, actionable coping strategies can provide immediate relief and long-term perspective. Try setting strict boundaries (like no email after hours), taking microbreaks, prioritizing the top three daily tasks, and utilizing company mental health benefits or Mayo Clinic Burnout Tips.Managing chronic workplace stress requires a personalized approach. Consider these ways to narrow down your options:Assess Work-Life Boundaries: Are you unplugging fully when off the clock? Establishing strict "off-duty" hours protects your downtime.Evaluate Workload & Delegation: Is your stress caused by too many tasks, unrealistic deadlines, or a lack of clarity?Seek Support: Does your company offer an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or other mental health resources?

FMLA might ensure you have a job to go back to if you need a prolonged time. File for SSD if you need to. The most important thing is you get well so your family can be well. The family is only as well as the sickest person. Learning this the hard way, too. Back surgery coming up, 2 audhders, a full time job…something has to give… and that is priority of mom’s health. Take care of yourself. There are social services to help financially. Be kind to yourself.

The problem is that if I work 6am till 2:30 pm I’m constantly getting calls about my kids or for my self. Right after work my son is already home so I have to make sure he eats and goes restroom. Then ABA shows up till 7pm. If I’m not involved with that or observing I wouldn’t know how to handle my sons behaviors. That goes on Monday through Friday. Saturday is full of activities for my son and errands for me. Sunday is church and getting ready for the week etc. after 4 years of this I’m exhausted because my body has been in fight or flight mode 24/7. I think I need to step away from work to free up time to care for myself. What do you think?
