Autism and mental illness are two separate things. While mental illness is commonly comorbid with autism, it's still separate. For example, I'm autistic with ADHD. Both of those are neurodevelopmental diagnoses. I also have OCD and anxiety, which are mental illnesses. So while they all co-occur in my case, they're still different from one another.
