My son has been on Daytrana patch since February. He currently is at 20 mg. I feel like it is not working at all. He is more irritable, aggressive and impulsive. He cannot swallow pills due to sensory issues. We previously tried Focalin XR (he kept chewing the beads) and Vyvanse (increased tics). I was wondering about Methylin as it comes in a liquid or chewable or Dextroamphetamine which also comes in a liquid. Anyone have any experience with these???? Thanks!

We have had a very hard summer. My son is 9 years old , non verbal, low functioning, very irritable and aggressive all the time and has been on respirdol for quite a few years and he has had to have it increase it a lot because after a few months it doesn't help him anymore. He's tried a lot of other different meds and for some reason it made him more angry and aggressive then helping him with it. I don't know what to do anymore. Nothing seems to help. We have tried clonodine and Intuniv… read more

Is there enough of a difference that I should feel comfortable putting my soon to be 8 year old son on? He has weird reactions to things that usually calms others down. Caffeine, allergy medicine just make him more wired. I'm terrified it could make matters worse. He claims he has no control of his outburst or constant rebuttal. I'm mentally exhausted.
Thank you.
My son had been taking Guanfacine for over a year for ADHD and it has been great and helped a lot. Recently out of the blue he started to have really bad anxiety and panic attacks, he absolutely miserable. My heart breaks because he is just so sad. Our neurologist advised to try CBD to help with anxiety. We added 15mg about a week ago in addition to Guanfacine and for the first 2 days it seem to help a lot, but last 4 days it seems like it’s just getting worse. In addition he is not sleeping… read more
Has he ever taken Adderall? I've been on it for about 15 years and it helps my focus and motivation greatly!
The psych doctor just prescribed us aderall XR 10 mg. We stepped up the dose to 20 mg since he thought it was "typical" but my son was so hyper he didn't sleep so I convinced my wife finally to adjust the dose down to 10 mg of the XR medication.
He is now sleeping much better with a new sleep medication clonodine and melatonin. Before he wasn't sleeping much even with clonodine on the 20 mg dose. It has been typical for him not to sleep well since a very young age. He also continues to wet the… read more

We made the decision upon our sone ASD diagnosis to absolutely not get Adderall or Ritalin for our son unless he consistently self harms or cannot attend school unless he's medicated. I am a supporter of medical cannabis and understand CBD may help but as I understand the research is anecdotal at best. I would like to get him to function within the school system, and society in general, until highschool if at all possible without the use of Adderall and Ritalin.
Did anybody try vyvance
