What are some medicine does not work then what are you supposed to do
We made the decision upon our sone ASD diagnosis to absolutely not get Adderall or Ritalin for our son unless he consistently self harms or cannot attend school unless he's medicated. My 12 year old (asd) son was recently precribed Adderall, Hes been taking it for about two months now, He is non verbal and I've notice recently that he does alot of sleeping and laying around. He has always been energetic should I be concerned or is this just what the medication is supposed to do, I will be taking him to his doctor Monday morning just wanted some advice until then.

My son is on intuniv and is experienceing side effects that actually hindering his abilites for focus and learn. Anyne have experience with some of the other ADHD meds that can provide insight on. He is 7.
My 5 yr old has severe adhd, odd, and PDD-NOS. He is maxed out on strattera and is getting an increase in his tennex. Adderall is horrid for him and he is already gluten soy protien corn syrup and food color free.
My daughter is twelve and wants to take classes in various things but attention is important what do you give your child that helps with attention? The psych doctor just prescribed us aderall XR 10 mg. We stepped up the dose to 20 mg since he thought it was "typical" but my son was so hyper he didn't sleep so I convinced my wife finally to adjust the dose down to 10 mg of the XR medication.
He is now sleeping much better with a new sleep medication clonodine and melatonin. Before he wasn't sleeping much even with clonodine on the 20 mg dose. It has been typical for him not to sleep well since a very young age. He also… read more
