Our 7 year old just recently started taking Depakote for aggression, mood disorder and just behaviors in general. I'm wondering if I could briefly speak to other parents etc who's child or children have taken this medicine or who have taken it etc. We're just wanting to know what we need to look for or expect? My daughter was diagnosed with an ASD at age 3. Now at age 12 she has increasingly talked about her "imaginary friends" who talk to her, applaud when she behaves in certain ways, and otherwise influence her behavior. My son has Absonce Seizures so his doctor first put him on Zerontin well he was having headaches and stomach aches daily as well as losing 2 pounds in 2 months.His doctor switched him to Depakote which has caused very horrible behavior issues so he was switched back to the Zerontin but for the next 3 days he has be on both meds,I'm just hoping that "my" well behaved son returns after the Depakote is out of his system.Has anyone else had… read more
My 5 yr. old granddaughter was put on Guanfacine one week ago, 1/2 mg in the evening for now, and it has had the opposite effect of what it was supposed to do. She is extremely irritable, talking less and wakes every night around 2. She has autism and was diagnosed with ADHD last week. Waking up during the night was a problem before, maybe three times a week, but not every night. She seems very angry most of the time and answers everything with "no". Hi, has anyones child develped seizures by age 5 or 16 and what age did they start? Any progress and or any MRI findings? Our son his just been DX yesterday with the focal brain lesion for this ^ type 2b its synonymous with seizures in kids. We always noticed from 9 months he rolled his eyes back untill the whites were showing.
