What vitamins can I give my child to help with autism.. I've been trying to read up on it but everything is so confusing so I don't know what I can give..

A MyAutismTeam Member

Thank y'all so much.. I am going to try and see how he does until I find what best suites his needs.. I feel better knowing that I can ask others who are going through similar situations.

How Do You Know What Will Help Your Child The Most?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son already has therapists lined up who he has grown to trust and has made progress with (through Babies Can't Wait). We have an opportunity to switch him to a different program (at Marcus Autism Center). My husband says that it is a gamble. I am so confused. I have been weighing the pros and cons. I just don't know what to do. I don't want to gamble with my sons progress. How do you decide the best course of treatment for a child who can't tell you what he needs?

A MyAutismTeam Member

You are doing good on pro/cons, therapists don't give your child all of what they need. ABA is great, cut out dairy. Helps with cognitive. The Marcus Center works with Autism, shows to have more… read more

The Early Intervention preschool that DD attended from 2 until 3 1/2 used ESDM. It pulls from the best of the various approaches (ABA, DTT, Floortime, TEACCH, etc.) and DD really responded to it.

Has Anybody Heard Of Cindy Hebbard: Freedom For Autism?
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

So, I saw this add for a program for our kids that claims 100% positive results. Apparently, it is tailored to each individual child to take specific steps to improve their behavior, diets, social skills, etc. without the use of ABA. I had a one on one call with the founder last week and she claims to have a daughter on the spectrum that has learned to thrive through her program and her website touts other testimonials of people who have seen social, emotional, and verbal improvements in their… read more

Bio Med
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Anyone have any insight into the cost of the biomed approach? Want to have all his levels tested and then go from there. We removed casein last week and are reducing gluten now. Taking it slow but I am very interested in the diet and supplement approach. My son is s almost 2 and nonverbal. Found a functional need doctor but seems very expensive. Wondering if anyone can offer any advice.

A MyAutismTeam Member

We saw more improvement from biomed than any of the conventional treatments aside from ABA (which is enormously expensive itself). There actually is starting to be a fair amount of legitimate research… read more

ASD & Tourettes Syndrome
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

So my 9 year old son was not only diagnosed with ASD, but also with Tourettes Syndrome and and Anxiety disorder. He already has the communication problem from the Autism, but add in the tourettes syndrome and its a big ol mess. Im just wondering if any other children have had the same diagnosis. The Dr. who diagnosed him flat told me that she's seen all his issues seperatley but never all in one child at one time. I guess Im just kind of wondering what kind of a battle Im going to have. I've… read more
