I'm looking for some insight from anyone who's had experience with both DIR/Floortime and with ABA. We might be moving our son to a new school who uses DIR/Floortime but our Regional Center thinks it's not as effective or useful as ABA.
My 19 year old son has ASD/BIPOLAR II and we are in IL. There is nothing here to help him. Not even a decent hospital if he needs help. I was looking at possibly florida or Arizona. But I'm afraid to leave the state and lose his medicaid waiver. However the waiver has done nothing but make him wait for 3 yrs. He has no assistance at this time and his behavior and mental health is declining. I'm visually impaired so I really need help ASAP. :(
I have a son who is still 7 years old diagnosed with Autism. I wanna know if state of Florida has services/programs and best school for kids with Autism. And if there are good ones which city/area in Florida. Thank you.
I was approved, received letter today. Not sure if the plan they offer is the right one. I notified them he has autism and sent Dr. Letter with diagnosis so they are aware.

I'm about to do my research but I'm a little stressed out right now and trying to knock out a few places.
