My 4 yr old son only eats puree foods. He gags when any textured food gets in his mouth. He sometimes goes on food strikes and only drinks his pediasures. He was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease. And the medicine he GI perscribed us has horrible possible side effects. Im so stressed out about it. I just am at a loss on what to do. Does anyone have any success with eating therapy? I believe if we can get him to start eating a healthy diet his gut will start to feel better. And possibly… read more

Hey All! I am looking for ideas for a gluten free, dairy free drink for my 3yo son with ASD. I googled it and found OneSource- it is lactose free but made from milk. He is not lactose intolerant.. it is a full-on dairy allergy. No whey or casein so that isn't going to work. I know there has to be SOMETHING out there along the lines of Boost or Ensure.. with his autism he is VERY particular about what he will eat. I have him on a multivitamin but I feel like I need to do more. Any suggestions?
Don't even bother with the neocate...it just impossible to drink it taste awful...try other milks. Even thought it doesn't have many calories as ensure, they are really good for autistic kids. I will… read more

Hi! My daughter is almost 4 (diagnosed with Lvl3 autism at age 2. She,at the moment, will only drink chocolate pediasure and whole milk (with
chocolate 😒 ) her father and I have tried everything to get her to eat food, but she will not. (Mind you- she did used to eat but very slowly stopped and preferred liquid only, so I really don’t think it could be a jaw issue or anything like that?)We’ll make her a plate and it’ll go untouched each and every time, sometimes she’ll play with the food/throw… read more
No don't take away the pediasure . Don't do the "wait until they get hungry " trust they will go without eating. Starving them is not the answer. I'm sorry I'm in the same boat as you . I'm reading… read more

I am really struggling to find anything he likes , he's really under weight for his age and I don't know what to do as forcing him isn't the answer as he will take steps backwards it's really upsetting me so much to see him so underweight and not healthy any suggestions please?
We went through this with the twin girls when they were between 8 and 13. Each doctors visit...we always heard failure to thrive and underweight. We finally got a doctor who was willing to work with… read more
