I am the mom of an 8 yr old boy with PPD-NOS and ADHD. We homeschool and are looking for homeschooling groups that focus on special needs children and have social gatherings or group activities. Any groups in North Texas who do this? We live in Anna, TX (north of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex)

I would appreciate if those who have any experience on Santa Clara school district' s Autism Specific Instruction program especially at Westwood and Laurelwood elementary schools provide their feedback.

My son is 16 and was just diagnosed with Aspergers. He has been dating a girl for 2 years, but she lives over a hour away. Since they hardly see each other she doesn't realize the extent of his symptoms. My husband and I are extremely nervous on how to tell her and her parents the news. As anyone had experience in this? It will crush him if she breaks up with him because of this.

My 7 year old (moderate to severe ASD) was completely toilet trained until about 6 months ago when he reverted back to 'pooping' in his underwear. Help my ex wont give my son his meds on the weekends or vacation time he has him. so my son goes days without it and comes home more upset and violent with his sisters and me. I have try to talk to his father about making sure that he gets it but got told that he can give it to himself which the doctor says no because of where he is on the spectrum. I am looking for advice regarding service and companion dogs. If anyone has experience in this area I would be very gratefu to hear from you.
What is the difference between service dogs and companion dogs?
Where are their places to get a dog who are reliable, have well trained dogs etc?
I have heard there are very long waiting list. Does anyone have experience in getting a dog from overseas?
Does anyone have a dog that would be for sale?

My daughter is in a diagnostic Kindergarten through the school district, but I think she'll be ready to be mainstreamed (with resource) in the next year or two. But I'm not sure the public school system is right for her. Are there any Charter schools or others (that are FREE) that you would recommend?

So I'm taking Levi to have his blood drawn tomorrow for genetic testing, and I'm dreading it. Any tips? I don't want to traumatize him having to hold him down :(
