Hi, my child was diagnosed with autism about 9 years ago. Now he needs an updated adaptive testing score (which should be part of autism evaluation). He also need an adjustment disorder evaluation. I called a lot of places and none of them provide these two evaluations. Anyone knows which place can do that?
Thanks

My son was diagnosed at 22 months old in 2008. He is now 7. I'm wondering if there is a need to be re-evaluated or if his diagnosis will ever change. I know my son still has autism, I just wonder if where he is on the spectrum may have changed over time.
I absolutely agree with everyone who suggested getting a neuropsyche reevaluation. We had one last year for our 6-year-old - the first one since her original diagnosis at 26 months - and got tons of… read more
My ASD daughter is going into Kindergarten and she had to be re-evaluated for an updated IEP for school and I asked for the WIAT and WISC test be administered as part of the re-evaluation to show the deficit but the evaluator did not do those tests. Do I have the right to have them done as part of the re-evaluation?
Thank you @A MyAutismTeam Member. Hope you have a great afternoon
My son just got a second evaluation done; do we void the 1st one or combine them?
I'm trying.
I just recently was told to look into getting advocate. The advocate is telling me to request testing from the school, you can get outside evaluations and the school pays for it. The school does not tell parents this.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Thank you
Yes I agree the school works different ......that's why my daughter is not getting the right help in school . She has behavior issue and they don't put her in a school that deal with behavior .

I have provided numerous ways to help parents in their search to secure services and supports for children with disabilities. I have actually secured the appropriate services for many students so the method and approach actually works, but it does not appear that I am reaching as many parents via the internet as I had thought. So my question then is that do the Parents want to know how to get the services or do they want a place to release and vent. Or is it that they know it is a lot of work… read more
@A MyAutismTeam Member - It's best to start where you're child's greatest need is at..... and what the school is good at. Most schools really suck at teaching social skills because they don't even… read more
Hello. My daughter has just turned 3 and has been exhibiting a few red flags for autism. A month before she turned 3, we were able to get a general, overall health evaluation through 1st Steps with our state, and they pinpointed a few areas of concern (speech, OT, and some PT issues). They pointed out the red flags they noticed (delayed echolalia, limited conversation skills, sensitivity to sudden loud noises, almost nightly sleep disturbances, hair pulling when stressed, etc.) but said they… read more

As part of IEP, can I request them to give him the standard academic assessment to see where he is at? My child is in third grade in a Montessori school and I haven’t done an IEP since the pandemic so I think it’s time. Montessori has no plans to test him.
It sounds like a private school. That means they are not legally obligated since they don't take state funds
