We are thinking about using it, but it is expensive. Looking for more feedback before taking the leap

Members shared overwhelmingly positive experiences with Therapeutic Listening for children with sensory processing disorder and ADHD, reporting improvements in focus, balance, communication, sensory meltdowns, sleep, and reducing background noise distractions. Several members offered cost-saving strategies, including borrowing CDs from occupational therapists, purchasing used headphones at a discount, renting equipment instead of buying, or asking therapists to loan out materials for trial periods at home. A recurring theme was that while the therapy showed promising results for most families, effects could fade after stopping treatment, and the high cost remains a significant barrier, prompting many to carefully weigh whether long-term use or purchase is sustainable for their family.

Well yes we have used it but the private OT place just gave us for few months to be used at home. so we did not buy it. But it made a great difference for my son.

We have used EASe listening therapy with Gavin for almost 3 years and it has improved many things. We use it in OT and at home daily. I can't speak enough positive things about it. It improved his stimming, sleeping, sensory meltdowns and other things too. Gavin has extreme sensory issues and it has helped tremendously. I have yet to hear a child not helped by it.

We tinkered with it barely, when it was still fairly new. Our OT wasn't aware of it until we brought it up, so she was cautious about it. We decided not to continue when Ellie decided she didn't like listening to it. But I might have tried it longer if it wasn't so "new" and experimental at the time. My daughter had a hard time with motor noises like airplanes and the kitchen disposal. She has gradually gotten better with most noises, but appreciates a good warning before we do things like use the disposal or vacuum, and she prefers to plug her ears or be in another room. I don't feel like the noises are as much an issue for her anymore, and that is basically without the therapeutic listening. Not too much help, but my 2 cents.

My 4yr old used it during two sessions with his OT. He seems to like it on a very low volume. He loves music, especially classical, and the headphones are light-weight. Obviously, it's too soon to know if it works for him. Our OT does loan out the cds so we don't need to purchase them and she is able to search for families that are done with the program and are willing to sell their headphones at a discounted price. We will keep trying therapeutic listening in session and go from there. Hopefully I will remember to share my results :) Good luck!

YES YES YES! We did the full-on AIT (a bit more intense) and saw amazing things!
