Not us. There must be a special place in hell for IHSS workers. They never told us in writing that we were denied protective services hours since they don't want you to formally appeal. We are going to contact our RC; were told they have a lawyer who helps.
We finally qualified and I am my sons provider. it took a ton of showing documents school, regional center diagnosis, assessments from ABA - anything and everything you have to show - at first we were told that we didnt qualify because our son is 4 and his needs are like any other 4 year old (which they are def not) that is what you need to prove and its protective services-- be diligent- keep on it - called everyday... but its there and it does help
@ CharlesDoran
I appealed. I received PS. The Regional Center did not help and I received minimal help from Disability Rights California
Wow how did it go? I'm going thru ihss stuff now. I'm trying get ihss worker to see my son has safety issues like wondering climbing biting my table. I used WK full time Dr. Office now I can't. My son's autism Dr filled out ps form already. My son also has aggression but that's not why I need their help but I'm sure that's what they'll put down. I hope things went good for you
