A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My ods has apraxia which I have stated in previous posts. Recently(within the last 2 plus months) there has been a dramatic increase in vocal stimming. my grandson is 3, he says the alphabet and the sounds they make over and over and frequently the object for the letter... C c-a-t-cat meow..but the whole alphabet. When he wants to engage you in it, he'll come up and say A you HAVE to say B then it's back and forth thru z. But, when he gets hurt he counts to 10

My son vocal stims nonstop. Its become a habit and he seems to enjoy the feeling. Hes 3.5 years old and it seems to be getting worse. His vocabulary and labling is decent though... But he only asks for things with pointing and one word. When the stimming is bad he will just scream and screach for our attention then we would correct it and ask him to ask us correctly. Then he will snap out of it and ask correctly when prompted. He has good days and bad days..... He just always seems irritated so the screaming/ screaching comes out easy. His speech i slowly expanding but so is his stimming :(
