Have heard couple of parents try it with mixed results. I would love to try it but not available where we live. We use omega-3 and PS complex instead. The advantage of Vayarin is that PS is bonded with the omega 3 so it claims to have higher efficacy in crossing blood brain barrier. Not sure if true but they do have double blind studies showing efficacy, which is why I would like to try it. Need a doctor prescription for it.
It's omega 3 fats coupled with 150 mg phosphatidylserine. Both are available over the counter a LOT cheaper than Vayarin. I haven't personally tried PS, but my DD is taking Coromega for the omega 3's.
Ok went to the Vitamin Shoppe and bought "total calm kid" which contains ps and bought Nordic naturals omega 3. Total calm kid is a powder so I've got to mix it with something ...which may be a challenge to get him to finish. At this point he would rather swallow a pill than drink something funny tasting.
Thank you @A MyAutismTeam Member! I've been looking for a good omega 3 for him
