The teen years are hard enough to deal with besides adding autism to the mix. But I wasted a lot of time fretting about the teen years for my oldest. It's important to take life one day at a time, keep lines of communication open and count your blessings each day. Don't get too caught up in the what ifs causing yourself unnecessary stress that will ultimately have an effect on him. I find the teen years cause my parenting style to shift from controlling to guiding. Letting go of control is hard but it's part of the process of teaching them how to navigate life as an adult. He's going to be ok! Your positive affirmation and unconditional love will help to get him through all the hard stuff.

Hi Johanna2014, my boy is 15, and doing fine. He looks at girls but is very shy, it honestly seems like he's afraid of them. But I have explained everything there is to know about them. Dont be afraid, as long as our children have us, we can guide them.
