Can anyone share good and not so good schools (private and public) and districts for Autism in Chicago Il. suburbs and city? We are in the Western suburbs, but are open.

A few years back,I visited Summit School, private school in Elgin.I was not impressed with it.Its a very old run down building and tuition is $30,000 yr.They were the ones that told me to try public school first and if my child wasn't compatible, the district would then bus and pay for her private school placement for FREE!My therapist was the one that recommended that we move to our new

West side of Elgin (301), St.Charles, Geneva, Kaneville,Batavia all participate in Mid Vally Special Ed co-op which so far has been wonderful for us!!!

Thank you for the ideas! Our son receives therapeutic placement from our district.It does not seem like a good fit for him so we are looking around for now and for something hopefully less restrictive in the future.
