I'm trying to incorporate the early start denver model into our therapy plan. My 2.5 year old daughter is currently getting traditional ABA. I want to incorporate a greeting routine that I read about, but don't know the specifics. She is just learning to imitate words and inconsistently will imitate a wave. Any ideas from parents that implement a greeting routine. The therapist usually comes every morning for 2 hours.
Offering the best advice I got to give : Our 10 year old has a drama session/class once a week at public school in the 4th grade. His teacher is great ! That teacher recommended a book : "Acting Antics" .... it is a theatrical approach to teaching social skills for special needs. Probably a book a little advanced for a toddler .... We are also just beginning to explore other options like sign language (for basic communication and expression of emotions) , spanish words (mostly for emotions), etc. Acting, Sign Language, Second Language ....
