@A MyAutismTeam Member I guess I dont have much info to help, but just read this and realized how much we all feel the same... my son is 3.5, has been diagnosed about 10 months ago (almost on his 3rd birthday) :(
I have been struggling with accepting this, especially since he has been doing so much better with ABA,Speech and OT. His main problem I believe is socializing with other kids... it's hard for him and normal kids his age doesn't make it easy... anyways.. holding my fingers for you :)
@A MyAutismTeam Member Just wanted to say that my son used to wake up at night 2 hours for months, I was loosing my mind, especially since I needed to work the day after. We think that OT and keeping him of dairy products was the solution, and now he rarely does it - actually I dont think he has done it for 5 months now... hope this helps.

@A MyAutismTeam Member, you said some really good things! I definitely feel like the label is not so important as long as we are getting the help we need.

@A MyAutismTeam Member, I'll be praying for strength for you! I apologize if you've already told me this but, have you taken him off of gluten to see if his sleep improves? Chlobug is still not a great sleeper but her sleep improved a lot after we found out she was gluten intolerant. Before she would wake up with terrible night terrors screaming and it was really hard to calm her, she would stare at us as if she didn't even know who we were. After we found out she was gluten intolerant and took gluten out of her diet she would still wake up at night but she wouldn't have the night terrors and she became so much easier to get back to sleep. It had tremendous effects on her moods and behavior as well. Just a thought :) Have you tried magnesium before bed? I've heard that can help but I've never been consistent enough with it to notice a difference.

@A MyAutismTeam Member, I have to run out for a bit so I'll respond more later but just wanted to say real quick...at that age my Chlobug fell asleep on the couch with me rubbing her back (she couldn't and wouldn't fall asleep without me rubbing her back) and then when I was ready to go to bed I would transfer her to our bed because co sleeping was the only way any of us got any rest. People wanted to give their advice but we just did what was best for our family. I completely feel your pain! :)

So, maybe silly question but...is it rare to have sensory issues but not have ASD? Will pretty much everyone with sensory issues fall somewhere on the spectrum??
