Does anyone have any information on how I can get help or resources for my son who has been abused by Regional Center vendor? I'm with East LA Reg. Center too. I would go to the Family Rescources Library (in the same building). It's run by T.A.S.K (team of advocates for special kids). They are not affiliated with ELARC. Maybe they can help? There is also an attorney in the building who is available for advice but I'm not sure if they are with Regional Center or not.
I agree! As much as I really hate the media, gotta hand it to them, they sure do know how to get peoples attention! I'd start by visiting the facebook pages of local news sites and if they won't listen, spread further out. Now days, a lot of news outlets get stories right off of twitter and facebook.
Just the power of the internet alone these days is worth gold. Try calling them out on twitter to get a response. ..if you can... I personally struggle severely with confrontation... and pass the buck to my husband. But no one wants negative attention where A LOT of viewers are present. Bad for business!
I'm just not sure about how to go to the media
I don't have an answer so to speak, but there is a lot of power in the whistle-blowing aspect of the media. Hugs!
