Long Term Care
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I am in need of some help...my 9 year old son needs long term care and I needed to see if anyone knew of a treatment center that treated kids his age for autism and aggression. Need to find the best treatment center that can accommodate his needs. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Kristie, have you ever watched a youtube video of an ABA session? My suggestion would be ( because I did this :) atleast try it out while you're waiting. Having another person in the picture to ask your son to follow "their" directions is really important, however while you're waiting.. knowing you can do it is just a plus... just a thought :) <3

The waiting list do take forever. My advice, put yourself on every single waiting list possible. I kept calling.. a lot of times people take themselves off because they find other services or like us are on every waiting list possible so our names are pulled quicker :) I hope this helps because ABA was the beginning of my true table time with my daughter. Eventually, or at least its working right now, where its just her and I. We do puzzles, etc.. but it took 2 years of intensive therapy to get there and its SO BENEFICIAL in other areas other then "table time".
