I am a special education teacher in Ohio and I have also provided in-home ABA therapy to a student. Discrete trial training is a form of ABA.... however, receiving ABA private therapy would most commonly provide your child with discrete trial training in the home, that is most likely what the therapist would use as a form of teaching and intervention therapy. It all depends on what you are looking for! If your looking for a constant individualized instruction for your child at home working on issues in the home, feeding, and direct instruction than ABA therapy in the home would be best for you, but if you are looking for your child to receive both instruction receiving DTT, social interaction, and peer-play based instruction you would probably want to enroll your student in the preschool program! It's all in what you want for your child and what your child requires right now!! Hope this helps!! Good luck!
