Best Location To Live
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I currently live in California and I'm looking to relocate to a state that is a lot better at accommodating kids with disabilities. I've done my own research but I would like to see if I can get some opinions, or info from some moms and dads here. Thank you.

We live in NC and I while it's a great place to live, I can't say the public schools have been that accommodating. We've been homeschooling our ASD son since 5th grade. Before that the teachers were great but in general I didn't feel they truly understood autism. I have heard New Jersey and New York state and areas in the northeast have better resources in their public schools. One bright spot here is the TEACCH center in Chapel Hill, NC. If you live near it, you can get a lot of resources.
