I have a very newly diagnosed toddler and am looking for advice on the tried and tested ways others have used to stay on top of which specialist requires what follow up, schedule of therapies, tracking milestones/goals, and keeping up with insurance reimbursements etc… It’s kinda mind boggling right now and I’d love advice from others on what worked or didnt for them.
I love this question. I think you have to find what works for you. My wife uses her iPhone calendar. Others use 3 ring binders. I love my Excel spreadsheets. I use them for everything from travel planning to groceries to medical care. I have a spreadsheet for my son with different tabs for dates of service, reimbursements, insurance status, etc. Its all in one place for me.
Keep everything it helps with adult services
When my son was in early intervention, I kept everything in three ring binders. Now I just use the note app on my iPhone, enter appointments on the calendar app. His private SLP sends me a reminder text the day before appointments and she sends me her notes. I save them because she doesn’t always remember to give me invoices.
I keep all of his progress reports, report cards and IEP reports in a binder and envelopes.
