My son have always been a ball of energy and always on the move all day. He is now 11 and have transitioned to middle school. He is having a hard time adjusting. No recess now which he absolutely loved in elementary and his impulse to do things have got worse and from observing him his pain tolerance is extremely high when he does this by impulse as if he cannot control his body at time. At first, we were against giving our son anything but ended up giving in. He took Ritalin for 10 years and I saw a huge difference with it. He is 18 now and recently decided he didn't want it anymore. His doctor advised us to give it a couple months and see how he does without it. They are all so different and react differently. Sports. There are Skate Parks, School Activities, and other resources, like the YMCA (who sometimes have a swimming pool).

Guanfacine or Tenex (same thing) is good for ADHD.
