I've recently made the decision to leave my job of seven years so I can be more present and supportive as my son reaches new milestones. Just the other evening, he had a huge meltdown that lasted about two hours. After he calmed down, he managed to fall asleep, but a few hours later, he woke up really upset and it went on until 5:00 AM! The next day, I was completely wiped out and couldn't believe that I used to handle such nights before. It makes me realize how I used to put on a smile and head to a toxic workplace every day. I’ve come to realize that a corporate job just isn’t in my future anymore. My priorities have shifted from work to being there for my son. I really appreciate the suggestions for driving and evening jobs—they seem like great options! Thank you!

Ir's difficult. Look for something advertising they offer flexible schedule. Drink a lot of coffee. Take naps whenever possible. I switched to nights 2 or 3 years ago while my husband worked days so I could stay up late nights with Liam and sleep during the day. It's hard. Some places are fine if school calls you sometimes. Some places are not so understanding. I had difficulty finding a job willing to accommodate a therapy schedule. A lot of people work from home. I usually cut my days some during in breaks but not this year because I have to pay some things and groceries are high. I may have to during summer but I am trying not to cuz once I give them up there is no guarantee I can get them back.

I was working before my son was ever born and being a single mother I had to work but when my son was going to daycare with his behavior was predictable but like I said still had to work. Currently I wanted to go back to work and with his recent behavior I will wait until after summer is over and try again.
