Members shared a wide range of experiences and advice in response to someone struggling with sleep, with several describing how managing underlying conditions like OCD and anxiety through medications such as Zoloft and Abilify helped them quiet racing thoughts and fall asleep more easily. Many community members described practical strategies that have worked for them or their loved ones, including taking evening walks, maintaining consistent sleep schedules, ruling out medical issues like sleep apnea, and being mindful of food and drink intake in the hours before bed. A recurring theme was that sleep troubles often stem from deeper causes like stress, anxiety, or undiagnosed conditions, and finding the right combination of medical treatment, lifestyle adjustments, and self-awareness can make a meaningful difference.

I sleep like a baby. I used to have trouble sleeping when my OCD was really severe, around. 18-19. I'd pace the floor and just couldn't relax - it was awful. Over time and with medications, my OCD is pretty much unnoticeable to me now. I have absolutely no trouble sleeping these days. I wait until I'm tired to go to bed, and I'm out within 10 minutes. If I need to wake up to use the bathroom, it doesn't take me but more than a few minutes to fall back asleep.

๐Ÿ˜‚...reading this question at 2am bc I awoke like it was my normal 5am. Sleep patterns can be interrupted or and reset etc. Sleep can be affected by what you did an hour before bed. How many wasted calories you ingested without complete digestion before bed. The same goes for what kind and how much liquids you drank. And almost always stress is a no dozer no matter how tired and sleepy you are. Also if it's your first day of a fast you'll have too much energy to sleep same if you skip lunch and dinner.

My autistic son would be a plate at night and eventually it took a team where after he stayed up all night and wanted to go to bed during the day we kept him up until we got him back on a regular sleep
