I took videos of my son when he was younger. I played them back to him recently. He’s made so much progress, he tells me it’s “baby K.”
My son had it since about 2 1/2 years old. That’s when we realized something was wrong because he stopped speaking and just babbled. He uses a few words now and then or perhaps a phrase or two like “I can’t reach it” but otherwise it has just continued. But every child is different so yours might grow out if it.
My son used to use an AAC device. He also used PECS, and he learned when I asked to repeat what I wanted him to say.
Do you have tips or suggestions to help aid with improvement of speech?
My son has echolalia. I don’t know if it ever went away. It’s less frequent.
