we just moved back from a long stay in the middle east and our son is autistic with ID and he is now 25 years old. we live in virginia now and looking for any program that can help us place him even if it is a private as all the state funded has a long waiting list. so we can pay for his placement until such time we get the waiver approval. please help us if you you have a name or a resource of a consultant to guide us through

How do u know if your child needs ABA?

My son is 21 and very shy. He just started a part time job in a movie theater. He needs to speak up in the loud foyer of the theater so that the patrons can hear him. He has had years of speech therapy, worked with a voice coach and has had social skills training. I am wondering if anyone has had luck with getting their child to speak up. Are there any techniques that have worked for you.

My 7 year old transition verbal (he is saying words but struggles to find the right words at the correct time) son has severe behaviors. I am concerned because when he gets frustrated he head bangs. My daughter and 2 of her classmates will soon "age-out" of our state's education program for special needs children. They have "behaviors" that will prevent them from obtaining and keeping a job. We have been going back and forth. With our 25 year old son who is autistic, with aggressive behaviors. I am interested in signing up my daughter for swimming lessons. She loves the water and I notice that she tries to float on her own, but I am not sure If she is capable of succeeding in that due to her lack of listening skills. Is there any other mothers out there that has a child with autism and has them in swimming lessons?
