Son Keeps Breaking His Crib From Bouncing!
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My son is almost 3, he has not been officially diagnosed yet. He bounces in crib all the time, he's already destroyed a mattress and 2 crib springs. Has anyone else gone thru this before? Idk what to do. I've been trying to look up toddler beds and anything else that could help. Any advise?

buy him a personal indoor trampoline for xmas. bouncing is a sensory soothing mechanism for them and they are usually used in physical therapy

I have a bouncer as well 🐎

We keep my son's mattress on the floor. I am not sure if it's helping it last longer but he is very big and I worry about him slipping is the main reason. I think it helps the mattress last longer. My son is nonverbal and we have not been able to change the behavior but you could reward him for a day or few hours without jumping on the bed if there is something that motivates him.

Small personal trampoline mine used to jump in hers but my daughter Is so tiny she couldn't damage it. We have one of those 3 in one cribs it's a day bed now we got a secondary set of rails for her bed
