Please do not ignore physical health when dealing with mental health problems is message I would like noted by others and professionals - not to abuse or neglect someone with mental health issues - case appearing which refers to this but I have not included
Yes, non-verbal people are most at risk. Very worrying. It create anxiety amongst parents because we never know if they are having physical problems unless it is obvious.
It is different among each individual, just like Autism.
Everyone experiences it differently and needs specific treatment for their unique situation.
There are different Triggers that set it off.
I know personally a family that deals with it daily.
I don't think many people do. The difference between us is sometimes great my dd is variable.

you described my life!!! My daughter was diagnosed 3 years ago with severe autism non-verbal and unable to walk. Every day I blame myself thinking did I cause this? That’s where my mental health comes into play! Beating myself up is where anxiety comes in along with depression. They do say that depression loss of interest in activities we once enjoyed. I haven’t coped so maybe that’s why I feel like this every day idk I do try every day to make it better for my mentally.
