I'm sensing my son may have this.
Key overlapping symptoms and features include:
Sensory Sensitivities: Heightened reactivity to food textures, smells, colors, or temperatures. Individuals may only tolerate "safe foods" that provide a predictable and comfortable sensory experience.
Interoception Challenges: Difficulty recognizing or interpreting internal body states, leading to an inability to feel physical hunger or realize when they are full.
Cognitive and Behavioral Rigidity: A strong need for sameness and routine, making the introduction of new foods extremely distressing.
Fear of Aversive Consequences: Anxiety regarding negative experiences like choking, vomiting, or experiencing gastrointestinal (GI) distress, resulting in food avoidance.
Low Interest in Eating: Viewing eating as a chore or forgetting to eat altogether, especially when distracted by other tasks.

Hey friend, my son doesn't snack at all. He used to but then stopped. I have to remind him he has snacks for him and then he might snack but very rarely.
My grandson is the same. Lately it's choc chip pancakes and crisp bacon, which he picks apart any undesired texture. Sometimes he will eat Mac and cheese , or a certain penne pasta with vodka sauce.... Maybe chicken tenders, not God forbid as he prematurely tears apart the tender before he eats it, he find a dot or different color of something, it's over. He's underweight. I've been sneaking in a textureless tasteless multi vitamin powder daily.
Yea sounds similar to ash, she just snacks throughout the day n when Ill doesn't eat either. :(
My son rarely tells me he's hungry then when he eats he eats extremely slow and comes off like he's full or bored and I don't think he eats full meals. When he's sick, he won't eat for a few days and will barely drink.
