My son is very picky and sometimes he just doesn't want food at all. I'll offer food over and over, his favorites, new foods, fast foods, junk foods, sometimes NOTHING works and he just won't eat. Sometimes offering junk food or fast food does the trick but he mostly just doesn't seem to want food. We're giving him pedicure, he's always been a skinny mini (his dad was SUPER skinny as a kid too) but I know that he's almost underweight so I want to know if this is common? What are some of the… read more

My son is basically on a liquid diet now because his food aversions have gotten so bad. There are only a few solid foods he will eat and they are junk food/carbs. He won’t eat any meat, veggies or fruit. We have been giving him Carnation Essentials in almond milk but that has a dairy base, as does things like Boost and Ensure, and we are trying to get him off dairy as we feel it contributes to his gastrointestinal problems (constipation). Does anyone know of any good non-dairy nutritional… read more
Simple Spectrum Supplement is really good if he will drink it. Supposedly it’s flavorless but it’s not. It has kind of an orange taste to it. So it can hide well in orange juice. Which is the one… read more
My son loves to eat and eats quite a few things, but he will regurgitate his food and seems to be eating it a second time ( so gross I know). I don't know why he does this or even how to stop it, any ideas would be great.

I have a very picky eater - I allowed him to get very hungry and offering him healthy food and eventually ate. Don't be scared won't eat for 2-3 days as long as drinking something - it is fine
Does anyone have any idea on how to stop an autistic child from stealing food? My daughter steals food (mostly sweets) it's not that I don't feed her or even allow her to have the items that she takes but she continues to take them without asking and hides to eat it. I've tried putting it where she shouldn't be able to get it but she finds a way. I dont by sweets often they are truly a treat but if I cant find away to stop the sneaking then we will become a treat free zone.
I have to put combo locks on the cabinets and lock up certain rooms like storage. It’s definitely an impulse issue. My daughter wants to stop but keeps relapsing. The worst part is that she lies about… read more

That would be at the discretion of the Clinical Supervisor. My daughter is receiving 6 hrs per week and she’s on her 3rd round of extended ABA (and almost 15). Personally, I believe at your son’s age… read more
I wish I could find the answer. My son went out for a walk and forgot to take a drink and pinched water from the shop the weekend. He told his sister about who told me. I sat him down and asked him… read more
Does anyone else have a problem with their kids putting too much food in their mouth at once? Little Man will literally put almost an entire half sandwich in his mouth at once and then try to chew it up. Is this an autism/sensory thing? That possibility just occured to me today but I don't know if there's actually a connection there. Anyone else have experience with this?
