Hi,

Thanks!
Thanks a lot!

Recently I saw a post about an "Autism Birthday card Club" on this site. Does anyone remember that, and have a link for it? Basically, you can put your child (teen) on a list to receive a birthday card, and also send birthday cards to other kids with Autism who are having birthdays. I thought it was a cool idea. I would enjoy seeing my daughter recieve a few b-day cards, and would love sending cards even more ! !
Yes, did you join the groups. We can then PM.
I Admin the Autism Birthday Club of Oklahoma but we are nationwide too.
We do not have family who is able to care/assist with child care. I have not been able to work (tried for one year) because there isn't anyone to watch my five year old.

My daughter has always hit her head with both hands in every sinario (even when she first wakes up) but recently it's been getting very hard and I just don't know what to do about it, it's so hard to try distract her and try to find any triggers is seeming to be impossible, any advise would be greatly appreciated, especially since the woman who normally works with my child is off on holiday 😬

if my son is playing a game on the copmuter or ps2 and he loses he has a complete meltdown, and i try to calm himm down but talking to him only makes him madder and holding him makes it worse so then my dad(who doesnt understand autism) comes to the bedroom(which has no door on it for me to be able to shut, and tells me to just spank his behind. But I dont want to teach him to hit or slap any more than he does already, anyone got advice, i sure could use it
Just let it run it's course and try to "ignore" it, making sure he can't hurt himself by matter-of-factly removing objects that could cause him harm.
After the first minute or two she is fine, but mama leaving Is so traumatic for her. I’ve tried everything, schedule cards, social stories, quickly leaving, and slowly leaving. Any advice?
