@A MyAutismTeam Member, great to hear you had some success with the Super NuThera. Did you use a folinic acid supplement with it? I found a liquid one that I ordered, but it hasn't arrived yet. No… read more
Hi I have heard of how chelation is good for removing heavy metal from kids with ASD. When to online and it's overwhelming
I don't know what works. Does anyone have any idea which is the best chelation product on the mArket?
Thanks so much for the info. I know you do lots of pubmed research from your posts. I am working with a DAN dr but he is not into chelations. Only with gluthatione but I am going to ask for the lab… read more
Hi my son has been on the GFCFSF diet for 13 months now, we're very rigorous with it and he's compliant still no success.
My kid didn't have gut issues. ( don't think he does) he has a good appetite, eats a variety of food pretty regular. The special diet made him constipated and sometimes he'll have diarrhea. Which wasn't the case before the diet. It there anyone out there with no success on GFCF?
I was thinking that this diet could help with constipation issues and then maybe I coukd finally get my 17 year old Son to go to the restroom on time and on his own. I think that his irregular bowel… read more
My son is now 16 and for the past four years has become increasingly more aggressive. He has been hospitalized short term four times now, has been on three of the atypical antipsychotics and one first generation antipsychotic with worse rage behavior occurring when on those drugs. He has been on Depakote and was on Concerta for a long period, about seven years. At this time we are working with intensive in home therapists, but he is not cooperating and is at risk for placement in a Level III… read more
This is heartbreaking for me to read & write a reply to. My brother had the same problems before he was emergency placed. My mother and I were pretty much in seclusion except for school and home (my… read more
English class is extremely hard for my son. He has a lot of literature to read and then reflect and answer questions about it. If the answers are in the text, great, but if it's anything he has to interpret, analyze or "read between the lines" forget it. He simply can't do it. He is a visual thinker and I've tried asking him to picture what he reads and then answer the questions that way but it only works part of the time. I'm wondering if anyone has a child or knows of one that excels in high… read more
HD, that's what I'm doing now too :)
On the therapists recommendation, we got our son a pressure vest (not weighted). He wears it no problem, but I haven't seen any difference in behavior. The OT never really gave us any indication and is off on summer vacation.
Do you use one and how often do you use it?
We have a combination pressure and weighted vest. Our OT said there are a lot of opinions there, but she recommended 20 mins on, an hour off. I have noticed that the days she has OT right before… read more
School here starts September 2, he will be going into 2nd grade after repeating the first grade with the same teacher. The decision to hold him back was purely mine. So he will be going into a new grade, with a new teacher, in a new building (they just built a brand new school building and it is awesome!) It is a lot of unknowns for him, which will lead to behavior issues. He has been on an IEP for 5 years now and every year the services are reduced. The IEPs in the past have been with a… read more
Since he has a serious medical condition yes I would get the nurse involved. Yes I would contact the school as soon as the open and ask to meet for IEP meeting as soon as possible. (maybe even before… read more

Hello everyone. This is so new and foreign and I'm trying to be sure I'm not missing vital steps. My son will be turning 3 in September and is aging out of the Early Steps Program he has only been in the program for a few months. Im confused on rather or not to see a neurologist for a diagnosis or not. Do you find that a medical diagnosis is more pertinent than the diagnosis of a therapist?
I went to one for.mine and my son was refered to a reginal center who then sent in their dr who also said yes and he has been bummped from early intervention to a day class if u can start with a… read more
