Help my ex wont give my son his meds on the weekends or vacation time he has him. so my son goes days without it and comes home more upset and violent with his sisters and me. I have try to talk to his father about making sure that he gets it but got told that he can give it to himself which the doctor says no because of where he is on the spectrum. I have tired talking to DFCS where I live and got told they cant do anything because I have the child most of the time. What else can I do because… read more
It is a form of negligence called medical negligence, I believe, for a parent to not give meds. I’m shocked that DCFS won’t do anything! CPS? My ex is the same but my child is only on meds when she is… read more
I want so badly for my baby to join in on the festivities. I want her to believe in Santa, get excited to open presents, go trick or treating, do Easter egg hunts, etc. Those of you who have kids who participate in holidays, at what age did it start? I obviously know I can't make her as she's not neurotypical but I'm just looking for some hope cause I always envisioned being a mom that did all the fun stuff with her baby.
My son is 4 and has a lot of echolalia. This year he started reciting parts of his Christmas books that related to our holiday activities-making cookies, opening stocking, etc. So I think he's… read more

How do u know if your child needs ABA?
It’s usually the recommendation of the Dr who diagnosed. If it’s something you’re considering then you’d have an evaluation done just like with other services like speech and OT
My son is a 25 autistic with aggression and destructive behavior please help
Thank you so much, sorry for the late response.
I am interested in signing up my daughter for swimming lessons. She loves the water and I notice that she tries to float on her own, but I am not sure If she is capable of succeeding in that due to her lack of listening skills. Is there any other mothers out there that has a child with autism and has them in swimming lessons?
My ASD boy has loved the water since he was little. Baths are his favorite time of the day. He is an amazing swimmer and love his swimming lessons. The worst that can happen is that it does not… read more
So, I saw this add for a program for our kids that claims 100% positive results. Apparently, it is tailored to each individual child to take specific steps to improve their behavior, diets, social skills, etc. without the use of ABA. I had a one on one call with the founder last week and she claims to have a daughter on the spectrum that has learned to thrive through her program and her website touts other testimonials of people who have seen social, emotional, and verbal improvements in their… read more

My daughter and 2 of her classmates will soon "age-out" of our state's education program for special needs children. They have "behaviors" that will prevent them from obtaining and keeping a job. There are also no affordable facilities or programs for young adults in our area. As a group we would like to develop a program similar to the one they have at school but lack the funds. I've researched online but was only shown sites to obtain funding for chartering a school which is not what we… read more

We have been going back and forth. With our 25 year old son who is autistic, with aggressive behaviors.
