I am listening to a book called Building a Non-Anxious Life I picked up from the library by John Delony. I think it is a really good book. It isn't specifically geared toward autism but I think it is really good.
Getting your symptoms under control will help limit the child's. To help avoid the falling domino, ECHO Autism has a directory for finding clinicians trained in best practices for treating autistic individuals, Organizations like the National Autistic Society and Autism Speaks offer resources, support, and directories of qualified professionals. The library has a good selection on self-help books that are suggestions for anxiety. I found some at a church thrift store. If you need to vent if your counselor is not available please feel free to use this platform or the forum at Autism speaks since expressing my thoughts has helped with my treatment.
Yes, routine is what helps. Since my son has had this anxiety now it's messing up the routine which is causing my anxiety.
I find that through helping others, it helps keep my anxiety at bay. Like they say, it's always easier to help others than it is to help oneself. This is so true for me. Maybe that's why I work the absurd amount of hours I do! I keep busy and I'm so focused on guiding others that I don't have time to worry or to let my anxiety get the best of me. Don't get me wrong, I still have my moments! They're just less often these days π
I can relate to the anxiety part of this, I was told I have an anxiety disorder with depression, medicine and deep breathing exercises do wonders, best of luck and hang in there.
