Hi there I have a 7 years old high functioning Aspergers and ADHD daughter. Has anyone got any ideas for me. She can't understand that if she wants to play with someone she has to join in their games and perhaps at some point they may play her game. I have done play acting out situations with her. Showed her story books explained plus and minuses to her. Not sure whats… read more

Are there any others in Minnesota raising a girl on the spectrum. It seems to affect boys more, so playmates for girls can be hard to come by. We are raising an 8 year old non-verbal girl with ASD. She is a funny, sweet & beautiful drama princess. Is there anyone else finding it hard to find playdates for their girls on the spectrum??

I'm SAH Mom. We need to focus on his social skill development. So looking for ways to get appropriate playdates.

Based on my research so far, it seems that we should not expect the same level of educational services from Chicago Public Schools as what we have now here in Boston. But I would love to know if any of you have had some positive experience with CPS concerning your child's special… read more
