Recommendation for Educational Advocate in Oakland County, MI?

Trying to find toys and equipment for my son on an limited income does anynody know of any sights that sell gently used toys and equipment for autistic children?

We live in Colorado where we have good services in schools and in private therapy for our 7-year-old ASD son. My husband has been offered a job in Scottsdale Arizona and I'm wondering if anyone knows the reputation of the schools in the area and outside services (ABA, OT, speech, etc). Are there any active groups or organizations specific to Scottsdale? Thanks in advance

My son knows he has some problems. He was moved to a school that has a BD program. He wants to get better. He wants his brain to be normal. He feels alone a lot and needs to know he's not the only kid going through this. Are there any DVDs out there for him to watch to help him?

HE has ASD PDD NOS, high functioning, ever since he started having friends over at the house he has not been as affectionate and all he cares about is his friends and their opinion of him. I asked him to put on his shoes while walking around the yard and he yelled "ok, woman". The new neighbor heard him and Im so mortified. We've been working on him to fix this problem, he does not do it so much with my husband but he disrespects me quite a bit. Help, any thought?

Hi, I have a 3yr old son who is on the spectrum but I have not yet gotten a formal diagnosis am still waiting for dr. Childer's to open his appointment. I am new to Florida my son has medicaid however due to lack of resources he only gets 1 speech therapy a week and 1 OT every other week. A 30 min session per week does not do anything for him as he has sensory, language delay, lack of attention, doesn't feed himself, doesn't touch anything, very little joint attention list goes on. My son has high functioning autism and has extreme difficulty remembering things, such as, somebody telling him something or the days events at school. Has anybody else experienced this and how do you handle it?

my 5 year-old son with ASD didn't used to be afraid of bugs. Now since the weather is getting nicer, the flying insects are coming out and he shrieks and clings to my leg when so much as a gnat flies in front of him. He was stung by a wasp last summer, but that didn't affect him at all the rest of the year. This seems to be a new behavior, and it is to the point where going outside is becoming too much of a chore. I will go insane if I have to spend all summer indoors!! HELP!

My 5-year-old son with ASD is becoming aggressive toward other children mostly. Today we went to the children's museum and he stuck his hand in a 1-year-old's face and shoved her down because she was reaching for a ball he wanted. you should have heard the gasps from the other mothers (I would have too!)
