Food Theif
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

Does anyone have any idea on how to stop an autistic child from stealing food? My daughter steals food (mostly sweets) it's not that I don't feed her or even allow her to have the items that she takes but she continues to take them without asking and hides to eat it. I've tried putting it where she shouldn't be able to get it but she finds a way. I dont by sweets often they are truly a treat but if I cant find away to stop the sneaking then we will become a treat free zone.

Now he has decided to join a football team and learn an instrument (violin) and continue on with his scouting. We have always encouraged our boys to be active and follow their dreams but I think he… read more

He climbs in the bathroom sink when he can or tries to get in my daughters room because she has a mirror that stands to do this. Has anyone encountered this behavior and what can I do to help?

Wow! You've got a couple of big issues here. I think the first question would be - is he taking any medication? It sounds like hes highly impulsive and there are medications that can help with that
