My 5 year old used to often put his hands in his mouth, mostly in new situations or when he was asked to do something challenging I think. But about 2 months ago, he started doing it all the time, regardless of the situation. His classmates don't want to be around him. His teacher is always telling him to wash his hands or put hand sanitizer on them. Any advice would be much appreciated.
I’m just now experiencing this with my 2 year old. He has Autism too and don’t know what to do.
How Can you tell when your child with ASD is regression?
My son went through major regression at nearly four. Went from having a lot of words to having none at all. No longer answered to his name or made eye contact, became fixated with wheels on toys and… read more
. Info I'm finding online seems to show this is started before 3yo. Is it too late to see results if started on a 6yo?
@A MyAutismTeam Member thank you so much for the helpful information!
I have 4 years old under the spectrum. Since he was two years old he is humping pillows whenever the opportunity comes a home. He does not do such thing at daycare, but whenever he comes home from daycare, he eats and then start humping pillow on the bed. I saw he has erection. Is this normal?. Usually he does that for over 30 minutes. I do really need to know if anybody saw something like this in the past.
My 3 year old grandson has been doing the same thing for a little over a year I notice it more when he is tired
Never though I’d be writing this but my almost 4yo son with ASD never used to care to much about the dogs but lately he’s been really into them, he likes to lick them then rubs against them, proceeds to remove his nappy and he’s clearly excited by the dogs. Any idea why he’s doing this ? The dogs our beautifully natured and they are never alone. I’d ideally Love to stop the behaviour.
We are taking our 10 year old daughter with classic autism to Disney World in january, which spurred us to start looking at trackers. I think we have decided it would be a good investment, regardless of the trip, to get her a tracker. Does anyone have experience with them? It is kind of overwhelming trying to choose the right one. I appreciate any suggestions or anecdotes. Thanks!
I just found this deal online. I think for the price it would be worth a try. I love that I can call the watch and talk to him if I need to. https://www.opensky.com/bluelans/product/anti-l...
Maybe add a weighted blanket? They have different hefts. I bought a Minecraft one for my son that is relatively light. He likes to sleep with it on every night.
Hey All! I am looking for ideas for a gluten free, dairy free drink for my 3yo son with ASD. I googled it and found OneSource- it is lactose free but made from milk. He is not lactose intolerant.. it is a full-on dairy allergy. No whey or casein so that isn't going to work. I know there has to be SOMETHING out there along the lines of Boost or Ensure.. with his autism he is VERY particular about what he will eat. I have him on a multivitamin but I feel like I need to do more. Any suggestions?
Don't even bother with the neocate...it just impossible to drink it taste awful...try other milks. Even thought it doesn't have many calories as ensure, they are really good for autistic kids. I will… read more
Hello!
My son just got diagnosed with ASD earlier this month. We have noticed for some time he has started to hump or what looks like he's humping. He presses down on his penis with his blanket, pillows or his hands. And he becomes stiff, drools and becomes out of breath. Has anyone else experienced this? How do I encourage him to stop?
Thank you so much!! 🙂
