My son is four years old and for the past few months he has been spitting on my mirror, on my coffee table, on Windows, floors. every where u can think of. Please any ideas how to stop him?
my 2 year old son does the same thing- most of the time it's because he is tired. I give him a drink with a straw or a snack... he needs oral stimulation.
My son is a 4 yrd old autistic boy, he's still in diapers and every time he does number 2 he will put his hands in his diaper and take the poop out and start spreading it all over the place.

My son 10, 5th grade, HFA, sever social anxiety, doesn't have anyone to hangout with at recess. He just plays with dirt and sits watching the other kids play. This use to not bother him but he has recently realized he enjoys talking to other people. Is this something that can be addressed at his ARD meeting
Second question, he will be transitioning to Jr high next year and still doesn't talk to his specials (are or music) teachers at his elementary school is this also something that should be… read more
Yes. The social worker at our school works with the ASD kids on socializing. They play games, and help stimulate conversations. She used to be assigned an older kid to play with her at recess too. The… read more

Hi All,
We live in London, UK and moving to the US for my job together with my wife and 3.5 years old son with ASD (would be 4 by the time we relocate). My son is non-verbal (only makes sounds like babbling), lacks understanding (cognitive delay) and suffers from sensory processing disorder (SPD) i.e. keeps on banging his hands in hard surfaces, claps frequently and hardly, presses his chin on our face when we hug him, keep running from one corner to another. We have been getting private… read more

Jacob is 10 and haircuts and hair washing is huge problem. I am trying to find anyway possible to help him feel more comfortable. I have tried to cut his hair at home and he gets so anxious he will start vomiting, I have tried a salon and he shuts down or panics. It's the same situation with washing his hair. He really doesn't like baths or showers and when I try to wash his hair, he cries, panics or shuts down. I have used baby shampoo so it won't hurt his eyes. I bought a handheld sprayer so… read more

HELLO, I HOPE EVERYONE IS DOING WELL. My son is 8, mostly non-verbal, hates doctors and fights them off, they know he's Autistic at the lab, he's supposed to get his blood drawn every three-6 months to test liver and kidney levels since he takes Depakote, but they are never able to get blood from him, even with Ativan given to him an hour before, he won't even let them put a blood pressure cuff on him! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
I definitely would look for a children's hospital too. At least at the current place they are familiar with him and he knows the place. If you're able to, maybe offer for him to pick something out at… read more
