Jacob is 10 and haircuts and hair washing is huge problem. I am trying to find anyway possible to help him feel more comfortable. I have tried to cut his hair at home and he gets so anxious he will start vomiting, I have tried a salon and he shuts down or panics. It's the same situation with washing his hair. He really doesn't like baths or showers and when I try to wash his hair, he cries, panics or shuts down. I have used baby shampoo so it won't hurt his eyes. I bought a handheld sprayer so… read more

Fear not! I don’t know which way it will go, but the only person you need to check in with is his doctor. When my son was about 1 1/2 to 2, he would eat chicken, french toast, smiley fries, yogurt and… read more
I wish I could find the answer. My son went out for a walk and forgot to take a drink and pinched water from the shop the weekend. He told his sister about who told me. I sat him down and asked him… read more
We are currently home schooling my 14 year old grandson because 9th grade in the public school was very unacceptable to him - the school - too many people - Chromebook’s - he was regressing and that was not acceptable to us. So homeschooling has been good so far but what we are finding out is that we think his aides were doing the work for him. We started homeschooling with pre algebra and found he couldn’t do it, (even though he got the 8th math award for the highest average). We are now… read more
As far as I know NO school teaches life skills. Thats why they graduate without knowing how to use a checkbook, pay bills, count money. Some schools aren’t teaching cursive anymore or how to read an… read more

We have a 10 year old son with ASD. He steals whatever he wants with no remorse. He has been doing this for years. He steals food, candy, money, toys from stores. I have to do a pocket check if I take him shopping with me. If you ask him if stealing is wrong, he says yes. Yet the behavior goes on. What should we do?
I’m in the same boat. My daughter is 12 and sneaks food regularly. We have to lock things up. So far she’s only tried to steal from the school once, but I’m worried she’ll be stealing from stores soon… read more

TBH— I want a comparison. I guess I want to stop ignoring attention seeking just because of my emotions.
My (4) year old has limited verbal skills, but she knows "Mommy" and she will yell it at the top of her lungs if she loses sight of me. If I don't respond right away she escalates. Its incredibly… read more
