Center For Creativity/Shining Stars Academy
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have an idea to start a school/center for kids and adults that are non-verbal or struggle to communicate and are NOT getting the academic rigor that they so deserve. What do you think
It would be for a students or adults that need a way to express themselves that traditional schools do not usually allow them or expect them to be able to do so
I’m at the beginning stages of my business venture so I would need some students to see if I can ignite the creativity. Ideas include: art, music,… read more

Where Are Good Places For Therapy In Nashville, TN
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

I'm am looking to relocate to the Nashville "area." I'm probably going to end up in Dickson Co, but don't mind to drive into Nashville or Franklin for services. I'm looking for suggestions for medical care across the board. I'll need to set my son up with a new pediatrician, OT, SLP, and hopefully ABA. Any suggestions on where to get these services would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Autism Assessment
A MyAutismTeam Member asked a question 💭

My 6 year old daughter was assessed by a psychiatrist as having characteristics at the age of 3.5. She was labeled as being developmentally delayed and labeled as pdd-nos. The test was not administered in the best environment in that she sat in a car seat in traffic for 2 hours. The developmental pediatrician… read more

My son has been doing a few things lately that are unusual for him and because of this I'm getting a little concerned. He's not on any medication except for Melatoin which he takes 6 mgs of at night. He has asthma but no other heath issues.

The other day we were standing in line at the store and he just fell down for no apparent reason, like he had tripped over something but he hadn't. And then I was getting him out of his booster seat in the car and he was just starring into space, he has… read more
