overwhelmed and over it
Ask him what he needs. My son loves to mess up my room, not necessarily breaking stuff, but taking things apart. A parent coach suggested that I ask him that question, and his answer was that he… read more
So I'm taking Levi to have his blood drawn tomorrow for genetic testing, and I'm dreading it. Any tips? I don't want to traumatize him having to hold him down :(

That would be at the discretion of the Clinical Supervisor. My daughter is receiving 6 hrs per week and she’s on her 3rd round of extended ABA (and almost 15). Personally, I believe at your son’s age… read more
I was a shy kid growing up, but now I'm starting to pay attention to my speech and noticing idiosyncratic speech, and it really bothers me.

I playfully hope there are programs that will support our children with autism as adults? With autism on the rise so much this should be a top priority. Will there ever be a cure for autism? Like me all of you want your children to adapt to life as much as possible when they are older. Especially for people who have a only child like we do. Thanks all in advance for reading my comment.
I was really lucky to be able to talk and do several miniate things but was not good at somethings there again wife is a big help.

My daughter is excited about reading night at school tonight. Yesterday I told her that I was getting her tested for a problem with her handwriting in June and she started crying. I asked her why and she just says there’s a lot of things going on. And that she has counseling at school next Week. And just a lot of things coming up that she doesn’t really have to worry about right now and I told her that. I asked her why she was obsessed. She didn’t know. But she calmed down and said that she was… read more
She also gets anxious when I ask her to pick up things, put away her dishes, clean her room, or do her homework. Or when I do anything to correct her, like tell her to work on writing her u and 4.
My daughter is having trouble keeping up in class and is behind in reading. She gets help from the teacher but still isn’t completing her work in the classroom. She is reluctant to do homework. She says that she can’t read. She’s reading with help the books that she’s familiar with, and I think that she’s memorizing the words. She has trouble reading her sight words and sounding out words as she goes also

My daughter has been diagnosed with autism but has a quality that has never been addressed. She has one eye that tends to wander at various times. Is this common with autistic kids or is it something else? She seems to be able to bring it back and focus if you get her attention but it is there. Just wondering....
Yes, my son Roman experienced this and we took him to an eye doctor that focuses on Behavioral Vision Therapy. They were able to give him a very in depth vision exam that determined that his eyes were… read more
