I'm looking for the best social toys attractive for both my 4-year-old boy with ASD and his 6-year-old sister? thanks in advance.
Ok, this may sound strange, but go to any store and look in the dog toy section. (I got mine at WalMart) I got a really nice soft thick rope for my son to play the game tug-of-war. It has about 4 or 5… read more
Try a reward system that seems to work with my ds. But mostly because he is also ADHD.
my parents have never seen my 4yr old. The trip requires 15 hr flight. Any suggestions from your experience?
I am so sorry.......15 hours is rough! But, they've got to see your son! I've done flights from Illinois to California with one stop in between. I've also done a 3 day Amtrak train to California. Now… read more
My 18 month old daughter with ASD cries when she gets really excited. Does anyone else have a child who does this? I know that when she does this, she is just over excited and she is not actually upset, but it is very difficult to explain this to other people. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this. Thank you 😊
Yes! My 2 year old son does this. For example he knows that when we need to put shoes on its because we are going outside and he loves the outdoors. So he gets super excited and starts to whine/cry… read more
My daughter started making herself vomit when she was just a few months old. When she was younger, it was easy to distract her with a teether or toy. Now she is 17 months and still does it... When she is anxious, over whelmed, or wants my attention. She does it several times a day, and I don't know how to make her stop. Anyone else had to go through this? Any tips? Thank you 😊

I am considering a move to California from the UK because of the lack of ABA treatment here. My son is 5 years old & I believe an ABA school would be best for him.
Is there anyone on here who has moved to the US in similar circumstances?
Any idea how I go about getting him into a school in California? What sort of costs?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Can i please have her email?
My son is high functioning. How ever tying his own shoes is still difficult. I have tried, he just gets frustrated. He has very skinny feet so shoes that tie fit him better. Dose anyone have a tip that worked for them?
There are shoe laces that you don't have to tie.
My son had a case study one last year when he was in preschool, and he was denied for an IEP because they felt academically he was on track. Well now he's in kindergarten and has had several issues with his socialization and frustration level. He becomes easily agitated when it comes to writing because it's difficult for him. He's high functioning ASD. And is in OT, and goes to a social group once a week. And currently has a 504 plan.
I am VERY concerned about next year. He will be in first… read more
